Repair Reserve Screen
Repair reserve is defined as money set aside for unplanned repairs. It is not for known expenses like oil changes or wear items like ground engaging tools. We also do not include tires or undercarriage repairs because each of these has their own place in DecisiveCost.

Heavy equipment experts agree that the amount you spend on unplanned repairs will vary widely depending on job conditions, operator practices and your own firm’s maintenance practices.

Job conditions or the type of work being done with the machine is the biggest variable in the repair reserve. An average or historical cost is helpful but may have little or no bearing on your next project!

Cat© shows reserve cost changing from $3.75 to $10.50* per hour on a 315B Excavator. This is Cat’s number. What is your reserve? Every company’s cost is different. We can help you find out.
